Wisteria:
Wisteria may be the queen of the vines. Yard long blossoms, delicate fragrances and lovely autumn foliage combined with rapid growth and a lack of thorns make it one of the first vines I think of when considering what to plant.

It does have some downsides though. It does grow fast and you need to prune it to keep it under control. Some people complain that it doesn't always flower. For me neither of these are major detractions.
